St. Louis Mo.- As the Champions Cup is aproaching us, the IMHLAA season
heats up. It should be a great finish. But as i've been watching the last
couple of weeks, i couldnt help but notice the unbeilevable amount of nail
biting finishes to games, shootouts, and an unprecidented amount of young
talent. So much of this atmosphere of great sport in fact that i asked my
self, could this sport be the next BIG sport in America, along with the big
four, basketball, baseball, and football. They often call Footbal, Americas
sport. but why cant it be mini hockey? NFL sets a bad example for the youth
of the world. For instance, Randy Moss with a vulger touchdown dance
imitating the act of pulling down his pants. Yes it did make me chuckle, but
that is besides the point. You dont see John Londoff, or Andrew Freund the
poster boys and faces of the leauge doing such acts. Some say that they love
football for the physicality of the game. If you want physicality, look no
further than last weeks incedent involving Timmy and Harry Londoff.
Unfortnateley injuries were involved during the conflict. You canot find the
speed in footbal that you can in mini hockey. The battle for that small
piece of styrophone that is o so precious on the magic carpet, all in an
attempt to smash it inbetween those holy PVC pipes were goaltenders like
Timmy Londoff. Timmy is included on the frozen Cactus's that have quite the
portfolio of wins including, St Pattys's Day Scramblem, St. Noels Battle,
and many more. Maurice Claymont a french player who is being recognized by
the league and is a future star for the Mini Hockey World. So much talent,so
much speed, so much intensity, so much atmosphere in the sport. There is
basketball, baseball, football and now...Mini-Hockey.
